Is one person worth destroying our Democracy?

Donald J. Trump

For nearly 250 years, the United States of America has survived wars, scandals, and one crooked and paranoid president who at the very least, after getting caught, had the wherewithal (or fear of jail) to convince him to resign.

However, in the past decade or so, we have seen the likes of someone that hopefully we’ll never see again, one Donald J. Trump, who loves one thing and one thing only:

Himself.

Before I get too far, I’m not a Joe Biden fan, I’m not a registered Democrat, in fact, up until Trump ran, I was a lifelong registered Republican. The Republican Party I was a member of was inclusive, and even though people referred to others as RINO’s (Republican in Name Only), most of those slinging that narrative had no clue why, other than they didn’t agree with them.

I, like most of my Republican friends, were referred to as RINO’s. Most of the people who identify as Republicans are also defined as such. Why? Because we’re the normal ones. We’re the one’s who believe in less government, but also, that grown adults should get to make their own decisions, and whatever those decisions are, as long as they don’t affect us, it’s none of our business.

See, we have too much to worry about with our families and our lives to try to judge other people’s lives. That’s what the GOP used to be about, but no longer. It’s about who can hate the most, who can judge the most, who can be the nastiest to other people while getting the laughs from people you normally wouldn’t care about.

Trump is to blame, in full, for the awful direction of this country and the GOP. Except this former friend to Democrats and supporter of abortion truly is a RINO, in every sense. He (and you) can point all the fingers you want at others, but he’s divisive, and he constantly finds ways to touch a nerve of people in pursuit of making himself look better, even if it’s those “nice” white supremacists he likes to cavort with.

People are angry, not just at one thing but seemingly at everything. Let’s talk about just one issue today, though, immigration, although on a weekly basis I’ll be glad to call him out on his stance on the military, abortion, rape, his love of dictators, support of North Korea and Russia, you name it. You know, those things that used to disgust the GOP but they now embrace?

There is nothing wrong with lawful immigration. I know of very few people in any party that disagree with this. Trump ran with rhetoric throughout his campaign:

“What are we going to build? And who’s going to pay for it?” – Donald J. Trump at multiple campaign rallies.

“Obviously (really, my commentary), they’re not going to write a check”. Seriously? Tell your “fanboys and fangirls”. See below. Split personality?

“So, Mexico is paying for the wall indirectly. And when I said Mexico will pay for the wall, in front of thousands and thousands of people, obviously they’re not going to write a check.” – Donald J. Trump February 10, 2019.

Why are people saying he did a great job on the border when a) there is no wall and b) there was no check received from Mexico?

Is illegal immigration a problem? It is. But in The Emperor Wears No Clothes, the Emperor wears nothing (not currently available in libraries in FL, and thankfully not the version featuring Trump), yet his minions tell him how beautiful his outfits are. That’s exactly what Trumpty Dumpty convinced his minions of though. What a great, beautiful wall. Isn’t it lovely? I know it’s not there, trust me, but it is, and Mexico paid us. Do you seriously believe every lie that comes out of his mouth, or do some bother you? Never mind, it’s rhetorical, I know the answer already.

Point being, you can bullshit some of the people some of the time, unless they’re MAGA fans who you can bullshit all the time. We built a small section of wall that Mexico paid us nothing for. They never were going to, and you knew it deep down, but you still accepted his bullshit. Why?

My problem with Trump is that he’s so polarizing, I truly believe his focus is on him, him and him, and he uses you, you and you to get what he wants. Lincoln said a nation divided cannot stand, and Trump is trying to prove that statement true.

Folks, I love America, and I’m sure you do too. So really, is this buffoon really worth destroying our nation when we have equally incompetent politicians who at least seem to care somewhat about else, and not about the Nixonian paybacks, should he get back in office, albeit from a jail cell, potentially?

We as a nation are so much better than this.

I will now count backwards from ten, and when I hit zero, I will snap my fingers, and you will all be come out of your trance.

The time for blame is not now

We’ve all been a party to the blame game that is going around the world along with the Coronavirus. Hard-core Republicans blame the Democrats: it’s a plot to further the continuance of the impeachment of Donald Trump.

The Democrats blame Trump for not having the foresight to see what was coming and to deal with it effectively. He failed to plan, planned to fail, etc. It’s a Chinese plot. No, the actor Woody Harrelson bizarrely blames 5g. That’s right, the new wireless technology created the Coronavirus.

Now, I’m not a scientist but the last I remember from school, viruses Continue reading

Morons will be morons

I’m so glad to see that despite the Coronavirus and it’s acknowledgement as real from people that seem to know how to look at information from all sources, including The White House and finally, FoxNews, is almost generally accepted for what it is: a pandemic.

But as always happens in our great country, there are those people who just won’t use common sense to realize that the world isn’t flat, that Ted Cruz’s father didn’t assassinate JFK, and that this pandemic isn’t a ‘big ole plot to take down Trump’.

Not everything in life is about Dear Leader. Especially when Trump himself has changed his tune (but not his self-praise for his Facebook popularity, general pop Continue reading
